Glowy: Skincare Routine Tracker

1. Introduction

Laramattix Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Glowy: Skin Routine Tracker mobile application (“Glowy”, “the App”). We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC115769.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect and why

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any party not listed above.

3. Period tracking data

Period tracking is opt-in only and is off by default. You must explicitly enable it in the App’s settings.

If you enable period tracking:

  • Period day data is stored locally on your device only.
  • It is never included in cloud backup and is never sent to any third party, including Open Beauty Facts, RevenueCat, or Supabase.
  • You can disable period tracking and delete all period data at any time in Settings → Journal.

4. Where your data is stored

Default (all users)

All data — routines, products, journal entries, photos, streak history — is stored on your device only using the device’s local database (SQLite) and local file system. It does not leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup.

Health data (always local-only)

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never included in cloud backup, regardless of your subscription or backup settings:

  • Journal health entries (sleep, water intake, stress level, diet, exercise)
  • Period tracking data
  • Progress photos

Cloud backup (premium feature, opt-in)

If you subscribe to Glowy Premium and enable cloud backup:

  • Your routine, product, and non-health journal data is encrypted and synced to Supabase, a cloud database service.
  • Cloud data is linked to your Glowy account email address.
  • You can delete your cloud data at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account.

If you disable cloud backup or cancel your subscription, your local data remains intact on your device. Your cloud copy is retained for 30 days then permanently deleted.

5. Progress photos

Progress photos are taken within the App using your device camera. They are:

  • Stored in the App’s private local storage on your device.
  • Never uploaded anywhere.
  • Accessible only through the Glowy app — not visible in your device camera roll unless you choose to save them there.
  • Deleted permanently from your device when you delete the App or use the “Delete all data” function in Settings.

6. Product search and Open Beauty Facts

When you search for a product by name or scan a barcode, the search query or barcode is sent to the Open Beauty Facts API (world.openbeautyfacts.org) to retrieve product information including ingredients.

Open Beauty Facts is an open-source, non-profit database. Their privacy policy is available at openbeautyfacts.org. We are not responsible for their data practices.

After the first successful lookup, the result is cached locally in your device’s database so the query is not repeated.

Product data retrieved from Open Beauty Facts is attributed in the App as required by their licence.

7. RevenueCat (subscription management)

We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

  • Device identifiers (iOS: IDFV; Android: randomly generated ID)
  • Your App Store or Google Play purchase receipt
  • Subscription status and entitlement history

RevenueCat does not receive your skincare data, journal entries, photos, or any health-related information. Their privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

8. Camera and notification permissions

You can withdraw either permission at any time in your device’s Settings app. Withdrawing notifications only stops reminders — it does not delete any data.

9. Children

Glowy is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us at legal@laramattix.com and we will delete the relevant data.

10. Data retention

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you control retention entirely.

  • Delete individual items: delete a product, routine step, journal entry, or photo from within the App at any time.
  • Delete all data: Settings → Account → Delete all data. This permanently wipes all local SQLite data and all local photos. This action cannot be undone.
  • Delete cloud data (premium): Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your Supabase account and all associated cloud data within 30 days.
  • Uninstalling the App deletes all local data on most Android and iOS versions. However, we recommend using the in-App delete function first to be certain.

11. Your rights under UK GDPR

We will respond to all requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113.

12. Automated decision-making

We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you within the meaning of Article 22 UK GDPR.

13. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

  • All local data is stored in the App’s sandboxed private storage — other apps cannot access it.
  • Cloud backup data (premium) is transmitted over HTTPS and stored encrypted at rest in Supabase.
  • We do not store passwords — authentication is handled via Supabase’s secure auth service.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately at legal@laramattix.com.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via an in-App notice.

The current version is always available within the App (Settings → Legal → Privacy Policy) and at the URL listed in the App Store and Google Play listings.

15. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

Glowy: Skin Routine Tracker

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Glowy: Skin Routine Tracker mobile application (“Glowy”, “the App”), operated by Laramattix Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Scotland (company number SC884319).

By downloading, installing, or using Glowy you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Not medical advice

Important: Glowy is not a medical product and does not provide medical advice.

The ingredient conflict detection feature is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is based on general dermatologist guidelines that are publicly available, and is not a substitute for professional medical, dermatological, or pharmacological advice.

  • Conflict warnings are intended to help you make informed decisions, not to diagnose, treat, or prevent any skin condition.
  • Every person’s skin is different. A conflict flagged by the App may not affect you, and a combination not flagged by the App may still cause irritation for your skin type.
  • If you experience a skin reaction, irritation, or have concerns about a product or ingredient, consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional.
  • Always read the full ingredient list and instructions on your product packaging.

This disclaimer appears throughout the App wherever conflict information is shown. It applies to all conflict-related features regardless of severity level (red, amber, or blue).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Glowy. By using the App you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 16, do not use the App.

4. Licence to use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Glowy on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicence the App or any part of it.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems.
  • Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content.

5. Free and premium features

Glowy offers a free tier and a premium subscription (“Glowy Premium”).

Free tier includes:

  • AM and PM routine check-off
  • Up to 2 routines
  • Streak tracking with 1 automatic freeze per month
  • Milestone badges
  • Push reminders (AM, PM, and streak-at-risk)
  • Product expiry tracking
  • Basic ingredient conflict detection (same-routine conflicts only)
  • Daily skin condition rating
  • Last 3 progress photos

Glowy Premium includes everything in the free tier, plus:

  • Unlimited routines
  • Extra streak freezes
  • Full badge collection and consistency score history
  • Skin goal tracking
  • Unlimited progress photos and photo comparison slider
  • Full journal (sleep, water, stress, diet, exercise, period tracking)
  • Pattern insights
  • Same-day and frequency conflict warnings
  • Full conflicts summary screen
  • Contextual conflict check-off reminders
  • Weekly summary notification
  • Progress photo nudge notification
  • Notification-free days

We reserve the right to adjust the features available in each tier with reasonable notice.

6. Subscription terms

6.1 Billing

Glowy Premium is billed as a recurring subscription. The subscription period, price, and currency are displayed in the App before purchase and in the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Google) listing.

Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at the time of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.

6.2 Auto-renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each subscription period unless you cancel it before the renewal date.

6.3 How to cancel

You must cancel your subscription through the platform you purchased it on:

  • iOS / App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Glowy → Cancel
  • Android / Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Glowy → Cancel

Cancelling through the App or by contacting us does not cancel your subscription — you must use the platform’s own subscription management.

After cancellation, you retain access to premium features until the end of the current paid period. No refund is issued for the remaining portion of a paid period, except where required by law.

6.4 Free trials

Where we offer a free trial, unused trial days are forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends. Only one free trial per Apple ID or Google account.

6.5 Price changes

We may change the subscription price with at least 30 days’ notice. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, your continued use of the subscription constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6.6 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests must be made directly to them:

We have no control over refund decisions made by Apple or Google.

7. Open Beauty Facts

Glowy uses the Open Beauty Facts database to retrieve product information. Open Beauty Facts is an open-source, non-profit project operated by the Open Food Facts association.

Product data retrieved from Open Beauty Facts is provided under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Attribution is provided within the App as required.

We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of data sourced from Open Beauty Facts. Ingredient information may be incomplete or out of date.

8. User content

Any content you enter into the App — product names, notes, journal entries, etc. — belongs to you. You grant us no rights to that content beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the App.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. Do not enter false, misleading, or unlawful content.

9. Intellectual property

All intellectual property in Glowy — including the app name, design, code, graphics, and branding — belongs to Laramattix Ltd or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

“Glowy” and “Glowy: Skin Routine Tracker” are trading names of Laramattix Ltd.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Glowy is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including:

  • That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.
  • That the App will be compatible with your device or operating system version.
  • That any product data sourced from Open Beauty Facts is accurate or complete.
  • That streak data, completion history, or reminders will always function as expected.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Laramattix Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss.
  • Loss of data (including streak history, journal entries, or photos) caused by device failure, App malfunction, or uninstallation.
  • Any skin reaction, irritation, or health outcome arising from your interpretation or use of conflict detection information.
  • Any loss arising from reliance on product data sourced from Open Beauty Facts.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Glowy Premium subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Third-party services

Glowy integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.

13. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update Glowy and these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-App notice and by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may also suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time with reasonable notice. Where we discontinue the App entirely, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice and a pro-rated refund for any unused premium subscription period.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately if you breach these Terms, without liability to you. On termination, your licence to use the App ends. All locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it.

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

If you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK or the EU, you may also have rights under the laws of your place of residence that cannot be excluded by this clause.
